Can you tell us about your role and what you do at CIS?

I’m a socio-emotional counsellor in secondary school, responsible for year 7 and a handful of highschoolers. In addition, I run the Peer Mentoring programme that coaches year 11/12/13s on mentoring skills that are used in facilitating the year 6 to 7 transition into secondary school. As part of the Child Protection team, I also deliver CP curriculum (sex and relationships, drugs and alcohol, digital citizenship etc) to all year groups in secondary school.

What is one new thing you’ve learned about CIS since working as a staff member?

That you will always get lost on campus.

What has been the highlight of your time working at CIS so far?

Working with teachers-turned-colleagues, and with students who are big dreamers

Your best and worst subject at CIS

Best – theatre higher level with Clare Stearns and one other student.

Worst – maths studies (but we still got that 7!)

What is your favourite memory from CIS?

When we had surprise storybook readers (parents) in lower primary school!

Throwback photos are always fun 🙂 Please share with us some of your favourite photos from your time at CIS!
